The Moor is passionate about the environment and helping the UK to reduce global temperature increases to less than 2 degrees Celsius by 2050. Across 2022 we have worked hard to reduce our carbon footprint, saving 462.1 tonnes of carbon emissions by diverting all waste from landfill including 167.6 tonnes of card and paper and 21.2 tonnes of glass.
In 2023 we have run a competition with local schools whereby we asked them to create a Super Model hero out of recyclable materials and are pleased to announce the winner Porter Croft Academy, who have won a £750 book voucher for their school!
The winning entry will be on display at The Light Cinema from 29th May – 2nd June. Everyone is welcome to come down to The Light Cinema on The Moor to see the fantastic creation, you can also enter a competition “Are You a Planet Protectors Superhero” where you can win 1 of 5 x £50 vouchers.*
