The Moor Pride in Sheffield Community Champion

Sunday 29th July 2018

Meet 92 year old Graham Bell - our fourth Moor Community Champion run in association with Sheffield Star. Since retiring from his job as a steelworker, the Blades supporter has dedicated his time to fundraising for charities around the city. He volunteers for charities at least four days a week & spends time helping and visiting people who are housebound.

He was presented with a £250 cheque from Aberdeen Standard Investments who own The Moor which he will split between two of his charities; the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind & CLIC Sargent that helps children with cancer and their families.

Graham has been married to Mary for 65 years & they have three children, as well as six grandchildren & three great-grandchildren, with another on the way. He was made an MBE in 2005 for his charity work & received the Légion d'honneur - France's highest military distinction - in 2017. He also achieved a degree in French from Sheffield University, aged 90!
