The Moor will mark Yorkshire Day on Tuesday, 1 August with a packed itinerary of fabulous things to do and see and take part in between 11am and 4.30pm. Showcasing the best of Yorkshire from traditional sports games run by Activity Sheffield - including Welly Wanging, to dance performances demonstrating the multi cultural side of Yorkshire life with Romani Dance, Ballet, Flamenco and the classical Indian dance called Kathak. There will also be great music from acoustic melodies from Aby Prettyman and folk music from Treebeard.
Moor Market traders and retailers on the Moor including, Greggs, Pound Bakery, S & J Pantry, Punch Stores, Wateralls, Granellis, Beer Central, Moor Coffee, Turners and Brew Bean Cafe are providing free tasters every half hour from the local shops on the Moor.
The Year of Making Ruskins Use & Beauty Parlour pop up based at the lower end of The Moor will be in full swing as it will be based on The Moor from 30 July - 12 August. The curious shaped parlour will showcase how well we make things in Sheffield and visitors will be encouraged to have go, guided by artists and makers from the city.
Visitors will be invited to contribute to a collection of Yorkshire sayings, take part in a Yorkshire photo competition and could win a prize with the Moor Market Treasure Hunt.
