Classics & Moor

Sunday 7th August 2016

Classic vehicles of all shapes & sizes lined the Moor on Sunday 2nd August attracting thousands of visitors & more than doubling the usual Sunday crowds, creating a bustling but relaxed family atmosphere. Centre Liaison Manager, Sandra Barley said: “It is great to see local people really enjoying this event & spending time looking at the fabulous vehicles & bikes & chatting to the car owners.

Events like this certainly endear visitors to The Moor, attracting some who might not have considered coming here before. From the comments I overheard many were pleasantly surprised at the changes we are making. Retailers had a good day too!” with stores on The Moor recorded increased sales because of the event.

Comments included: 'Classics on The Moor usually brings lots of people but this year best yet’ 'It is my favourite event, creating great atmosphere. It gives The Moor a feel good factor’

'A great day - really, really busy from the moment the doors opened'

‘It is good to see the vibrancy plus people can see how The Moor is changing'

The event also traditionally raises money for charity by asking for donations for the plaques produced by the exhibitors, & this year the chosen charity was Sheffield Hospitals Trust.
