Dancing & Giants & Workshops & Moor

Saturday 1st July 2017

The Moor hosted famous giants and dancing from around the world for a free event on Saturday 1 July as part of Sheffields city centre Chance to Dance celebrations.

It was a twisting, jiving & foot-tapping dance bonanza for all the family. Visitors saw line dancing, ballroom fitness, tap and ballet, with lots of opportunities to join in and learn some new moves. As well as the dancing, there was activities for children with make & play workshops.

The Moor also celebrated a landmark for The Sheffield City Giants. This pair of four-metre-high models, called War & Peace, were gifted to the city 25 years ago this year. The impressive models, were welcomed on The Moor by the Lord Mayor, who cut the special anniversary cake.

Amanda Phillips, Centre Manager for The Moor said: “It was a great day and the sun shone! It was lovely to see visitors old and young alike joining in, and the Sheffield City Giants proved popular entertainment.”
